You Can Store Your Crypto Private Keys in New Samsung Galaxy S10

In the press release on Feb. 20, Samsung confirmed that their new-released smartphone Samsung Galaxy S10 will be providing cryptocurrency key storage.

As the press release went, Samsung introduced the launch of Galaxy S10 in Seoul, San Francisco and London, featuring Samsung Knox function:

“Galaxy S10 is built with defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as a secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-enabled mobile services.”

Priorly, there has been rumours about this new phone’s configuration and its possibility to support cryptocurrency wallets and DApps. Last month, photos of a “Samsung Blockchain Keystore” on the Galaxy S10 were leaked, even including the “supported cryptocurrencies” list with Ethereum (ETH) wallet as an option. However, the company did not mention this wallet in their press release.

Apart from Samsung, consumer electronics corporation HTC is another company that feature crypto-related capabilities into their products such as smartphones. Last year, HTC has disclosed HTC Exodus, “the first native blockchain phone,” that would support for multiple blockchains, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum networks and feature Brave as its default browser.
