By Natalie Wu | March 16, 2020

Two Italy-based high schools will reportedly utilize Ethereum’s blockchain public tech as a viable tool for generating digital diplomas with unchangeability and simplified shareability features.

Specifically, the solution is expected to provide transparency for the whole process of generation and traceability, as well as to be the appropriate solution for dealing with the ever-existing issue in Italy – fake diplomas.

The schools – Rome-based licei internazionali di Villa Flaminia and Crotone-based  l’Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore “M. Ciliberto – A. Lucifero” – will respectively partner with EY and Blockchain Italia to for their projects.

“This project can contribute to the elimination of information asymmetries with other bodies by allowing universities and companies to verify the veracity of the qualification claimed by any candidate.” Maria Chiara Sidori – Director for high school institute in Rome – shared her remarks regarding the development.

The technology will reportedly also offer notarizing service for educational establishments, concerning all students-related data, including courses taken, which ultimately enables personalized follow-up, without the possibility of a falsified registry.

Per Sidori, this initiative will provide assistance in amping up the current teaching methods, which includes teacher-student feedbacks, via real-time process standardization.
