Tata Consultancy Services Rolled Out New “DevKit” For Designing Blockchain App

By Natalie Wu | December 17, 2019

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – the India-based multinational IT consultancy heavyweight – has reportedly rolled out a new development tool, for designing blockchain apps.

Revealed by TCS on December 16, the new tool – dubbed Quartz DevKit – is a low-code, on-the-web integrated development environment, designed with a specific goal to help major companies create and introduce applications, on any blockchain system of their choice, in a simplified manner.

The DevKit comes with pre-designed templates, which can be made larger, to use for setting up platform, administrative work, deployment, verifying platform security, encryption, node, identity, along with user management.

The firm notified that such feature is an effective addition to programmers’ toolkit, helping them write smart contracts with enhanced speed, around 40%, compared to the previous non-DevKit methods.

“Many of our customers, across industries, are leveraging blockchain technology to establish frictionless transactions across their extended ecosystem. We developed the Quartz DevKit to help their teams rapidly put together high-quality pilots using smart contracts on any platform with reduced coding effort. We have received very positive feedback from our pilot customers, and are pleased to make the DevKit available for use at scale.”

The DevKit, together with the Quartz Gateway, are all featured developments of the Quartz solution, which enables the incorporation of current solutions into blockchains, and the Quartz Command Center ecosystem administration and monitoring tool.

Hyperledger, Ripple, R3’s Corda and Ethereum are all announced supported blockchain systems of Quartz.
