China is reportedly taking good strides with its CBDC adoption, following a release of a new batch of ATMs from high-profile local banks, operated by digital yuans.

Particularly, the digital yuan – a CBDC under the management of The People’s Bank of China – is reportedly can be utilized now for deposit and withdrawals purposes, across more than 3,000 Beijing-based ATMs.

The Beijing division of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has reportedly taken the pioneering role in entirely allowing the digital yuan exchange in the Chinese capital city, via finalizing the installation of over 3,000 crypto-supported ATMs.

The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) – one more high-profile bank that took part in China’s CBDC trials – reportedly also completed the deployment of over 10 ATMs in the Wangfujing region – a major shopping street in Beijing.

The state-owned bank has previously rolled out digital yuan ATMs back in January this year, making it possible for customers at a few particularly chosen branches  within the Shenzhen region to conduct depositing and withdrawal of the digital currency.

The ABC has reportedly taken up an active role regarding the design of a wallet dedicated to the cryptocurrency.

The Chinese authority has reportedly also spent extensive resources in promoting the digital yuan in the capital via a digital currency lottery, as included in the scope of ongoing digital yuan trials.

The state is reportedly planning to complete the distribution of 40 million digital yuan – equivalent to $6.2 million –  to Beijing residents in a “red envelope” campaign, making it possible to spend digital currency prizes by June 20.
