El Salvador has successfully secured the third spot in the list of nations completing the installation for the highest number of crypto ATMs, chasing after the US and Canada.

Specifically, insights generated by Coin ATM Radar reportedly revealed that El Salvador has surpassed the UK in terms of successfully installed crypto ATMs, after the nation finalized the deployment of 205 crypto ATMs to date, to support Bitcoin transactions and BTC to U.S. dollar conversions in the area.

Comparing the insights with Statista information from August 16, it can be clearly seen that El Salvador has managed to install 201 ATMs in one month. Previously, the nation stood at the 43rd spot with just four operable crypto ATMs.

President Nayib Bukele had previously shared that Bitcoin’s adoption would receive the support of a network of 200 ATMs and 50 branches in its initial run.

The Salvadoran authority has reportedly teamed up with an in-house cryptocurrency wallet provider, which goes by the name Chivo, to function the BTC wallets and ATM usage nationwide.

Crypto ATM installations are reaching new peaks throughout the globe, with 27,664 active machines, and 2,790 new machines putting into circulation in September this year.

The surge in El Salvador’s ATM installation drive reportedly matched with a presidential order issued recently, deeming it mandatory for every establishment to add Bitcoin to their lists of viable payment measures.

Nonetheless, the merchants still reportedly have the freedom to select the option of Bitcoin-to-USD conversion prior to making withdrawals of their earnings.
