Microsoft Azure – the blockchain-based cloud platform developed by tech heavyweight Microsoft – has reportedly rolled out a blockchain non-fungible tokens (NFT) – to reward its developers.

Revealed by Microsoft on December 4, the NFT – dubbed “Azure Heroes” – come in the form of “cartoonish badgers”, and will be given out as an award, for whichever developer in the community that displays positive behavior.

Every badger comes with a limited supply, which falls somewhere between 100 to 10,000 units.

“Azure Heroes aims to reward individuals for verifiable acts of impact such as coaching, creating demos, building sample code, blogging about Azure or completing certain challenges. Community members that have demonstrated their contributions will be recognised with badges across a number of categories.” Microsoft announced.

In order to introduce this project on the Ethereum blockchain, Microsoft has teamed up with blockchain-enabled gaming company Enjin. The token will go through the minting process every season, and there will be a QR code employed, in an attempt to verify and distribute the limited amount. This requires the receivers to already have a crypto wallet available.

The only way any individual able to obtain token is through nomination, which can be carried out by that very person. That individual will then be judged, and whoever created the most positive effect on the society will go home with the badger – the NFT.
