The number three most wealthy individual in Mexico reportedly sent out a heart-warming New Year message to Bitcoin (BTC) advocates on Christmas Eve.

Specifically, Ricardo Salinas Pliego reportedly issued three pieces of recommendation to his 957,200 followers on Twitter as included within the scope of his Christmas and New Year message, prior to asking his followers to retweet and share.

“Steer clear of fiat money. Whether it’s the Dollar, the Euro, or the Yen –it’s all the same. It’s fake money made of paper lies. Central banks are producing more than ever.” He called for the departure from fiat and to accumulate more Bitcoin in his two-minute footage.

He pauses before pointing to the camera to say, “Invest in Bitcoin!”

It reportedly does not come as a surprise that Salinas supports the promotion of BTC investments. As a prominent Bitcoin evangelist since 2013, his Twitter bio describes himself simply as a “Mexican businessman and Bitcoin holder.”

Salinas reportedly has a goal of turning Mexico’s second-largest retail bank, Banco Azteca, into the first lender in the nation, to work with BTC. However, Salinas, chairman of the bank’s parent company, Grupo Salinas, did not get what he aimed for in June 2021.

To respond to the man’s ambitious goal, Mexico’s central bank further revealed that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) are not classified as legal tender, and will not be recognized for use in the nation’s financial system.

Salinas is reportedly not an individual that can be easily swayed. He has been putting in extensive efforts to orange peel 128 million people living in Mexico since the summer, and has expressed his conviction for BTC as a non-confiscatable asset.
