By Natalie Wu | November 2, 2019

France is reportedly going to make some major changes to its education curriculum to teach high schoolers about Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies.

Specifically, in June this year, the French Ministry of National Education has made some amendments to the existing programs being taught in schools across the nation, adding the knowledge relating to the globally recognized digital coin.

French teachers are now tasked with teaching an introductory program, aimed to equip youngsters with an understanding of the deep effect Bitcoin currently creating on the economies of France and the world.

The ministry has introduced new teaching tools: 3 educational explainer videos, answering some of the most frequently asked questions: “Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?”, “Can Bitcoin replace the Euro?” and “Do you have trust in your currency?”.

Particularly outlined by the ministry, French students are expected to make comparisons between Bitcoin and fiat currencies, which will, as a result, granting them the fundamental understanding of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, as well as the impact they have on the existing financial scene.

The crypto adoption rate in France is, at the moment, witnessing a sharp incline, with the French crypto firm Keplerk will offer its services again in October, adding Bitcoin to their payment options for 5,200 tobacco shops in France.
