Mayoral Candidate Vowed to Turn New York Into Most Pro-crypto City in America

Curtis Sliwa, a beret-wearing, New York City mayoral candidate from the Republican – has reportedly disclosed details regarding crypto to be one of the main focus points for his campaign targets. 

Specifically, Sliwa is reportedly among the variety of mayors from different cities in America who have been spending efforts in accelerating the adoption of crypto, and or employing a pro-crypto attitude. 

Via a tweet on September 1st, Sliwa reportedly revealed that he would be channeling his efforts and resources towards establishing a more enhanced financial inclusivity within New York City, via finalizing the installation of an increased number of crypto ATMs, along with incentivizing businesses to add crypto to the list of viable payment measures.

Per details visible on his campaign web page, nonetheless, the Republican currently having a run for to become the mayor of New York, U.S. dollar-based donations via personal checks or credit cards is the only form accepted at the moment. 

Sliwa further shared his plans for the adoption of cryptocurrencies in NYC back in June this year, prior to a secured win to be the Republican primary in the city’s mayoral race.

The founder of the crime-prevention group Guardian Angels will reportedly be battling against his opponent – Democratic candidate Eric Adams – in November.

Adams – who reportedly appeared to have employed a supporting attitude for crypto via vowing to turn New York into “the center of Bitcoins” – bagged the win of the Democratic primary against former presidential candidate and crypto advocate Andrew Yang in July.
