Crypto.com Finalizing Google Pay Integration With Big Tech Supporting Crypto

July 24, 2022

Top-tier crypto wallet and exchange platform Crypto.com is reportedly completing Google Pay integration as a payment tool for Android users to purchase cryptocurrencies

Specifically, Google Pay is estimated to have more than 100 million users who are available to leverage the most recent payment gateway to cryptocurrency markets.

As soon as the integration is officially rolled out next week, users that have completed the set up of their Google Pay accounts to be connected with a credit or debit card will have the ability to select the payment option when on the Crypto.com app.

The exchange reportedly included more than 250 cryptocurrencies in the list and access to approximately 50 million users throughout the globe.

Crypto.com has reportedly been at the center of attention throughout the past months, as the firm finalized the acquisition of licenses to function in different nations in quick succession. Italy is the most recent nation to grant the firm the approval to start catering to customers within its borders, following regulatory go-heads in Greece, Singapore, and Dubai.

The integration of high-profile payment networks into cryptocurrency wallets and exchange platforms has witnessed accelerations throughout the last two years. Google Pay revealed its further intention of deep-diving into the cryptocurrency sphere in January this year, via the appointment of former PayPal executive Arnold Goldberg to lead their payments division.

The development reportedly surfaced following an eventful 2021 for Google Pay and the cryptocurrency industry, which witnessed integration with Gemini in April providing similar features Crypto.com has now rolled out.

An alliance forged with Coinbase in June last year reportedly made it possible for users to pay for goods and services via Google Pay using their Coinbase Card.

Google Pay additionally teamed up with Bakkt in October the year prior, while Nexo disclosed details of its Google Pay integration via the introduction of its cryptocurrency-supported Mastercard cards in April 2022.
