House Committee to Host Discussion On How Blockchain Helps Grow Small Businesses

The U.S. House of Representatives is reportedly going to host a discussing session, to talk about the effect blockchain and digital coins are having on how small-scale firms are going about with their business.

Specifically, the session, which goes by the name “Building Blocks of Change: The Benefits of Blockchain Technology for Small Businesses”, is taking place on March 4th, in Washington DC. 

The session is one of the governmental attempts to obtain a more thorough understanding of the potential impacts of blockchain, as well as cryptocurrencies, has on the way giant conglomerates and small-scale businesses are functioning. 

The session, led by Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez (D-NY), will have its primary agenda to be about “using blockchain technology to help small businesses boost productivity, increase security, open new markets, and change the way business is done.”

Shane Bigelow, CEO of Ownum; Dawn Dickson, CEO of PopCom; Marvin Ammori, general counsel for Protocol Labs; and Jim Harper, visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute are a few big names that reportedly will appear at the discussion.

Such the initiative has hinted that the US government is gradually obtaining a pro-attitude towards crypto, followed by similar initiatives conducted from state-level authorities. 

Recently, New York and New Jersey have made some changes to their crypto regulations, requiring crypto businesses to secure licensing for authorized operation for their offerings. California has reportedly also proposed new laws, providing legal assurance, regarding blockchain-related projects.
