Ether and Litecoin Added to Viable Crypto Payment List For AMC Movie Tickets

By Natalie Wu | September 17, 2021

The cinema operator AMC has reportedly widened its list of viable crypto payment measures for movie tickets, via adding support for Ether and Litecoin

Specifically, aside from Bitcoin (BTC), AMC Entertainment will further include different well-known digital currencies in its policy for appropriate crypto-enabled payment methods for movie tickets by the end of 2022.

AMC’s Head – Adam Aron – reportedly took to Twitter to disclose the plans of acceptance regarding three additional virtual coins – Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Previously, AMC reportedly revealed initial details for its initiative to offer supporting features for Bitcoin-enabled payment for online movie tickets prior to the end of this year.

At the time, Aron reportedly shared the acknowledged enthusiasm from the moviegoers to select crypto as a payment option, for tickets and concessions at AMC locations throughout America.

The AMC chief further claimed that the firm was reportedly putting resources towards completing the required modalities involved in accepting crypto payments.

Regarding the case with the August announcement, Aron’s tweet sharing details of initiatives to widen the scope of the crypto acceptance agenda attracted a large amount of criticism from Dogecoin (DOGE) proponents for leaving the meme coin out of the list.

AMC including crypto in the list of suitable means of payments is another example of a growing pattern where prominent retail entities offer facilitating features for cryptocurrency payments across the United States.
