The Supreme Court of the São Paulo city, Brazil has declared the crypto exchange platform Mercado Bitcoin not guilty of the accusations made by Banco Santander bank. The court also ordered the bank to return the fund to the crypto exchange, according to the local crypto media CriptomoedasFacil on March 8th.

Specifically, Banco Santander has reportedly terminated Mercado’s account and frozen all their money while accusing the firm of performing activities not aligned with their policy.

The Brazil-based crypto firm has then taken legal actions regarding their closed accounts and claiming the bank to have frozen their funds without any proven justification.

According to the official Brazil government portal Impresa Oficial, after an anonymous vote by the Sao Paulo Court of Justice members, the odds have been ruled in Mercado Bitcoin’s favour and the bank has been ordered to give R$1,350,733 (equivalent to nearly $350,000) total amount of funds back to the crypto exchange, along with a 1% interest extra every month from now on.

Banco Santander is also required to cover all legal cost for the crypto firm, with a specific 10% of the conviction value. The bank’s appeal against the final decision but such appeal has also been dismissed.
