Major Indian Farmer Producer Organization Employs Blockchain Solution for Supply Chain

Blockchain-powered agtech firm Agri10x has reportedly forged an alliance with the Indian authorities to assist direct selling of farmers’ products to customers.

Specifically, Agri10x will be granted access to around 500,000 government-affiliated common service centers, which helps to finalize the registration process of farmers in rural areas on the Agri10x platform.

Data from a report on food sales consolidated by farmers has reported displayed that a large part of produce left with farmers is sold for less than the Minimum Support Price (MSP). As government agencies have failed to properly connect with farmers, they reportedly have no other choice but to sell the leftovers to middlemen for next-to-zero profit.

“Our aim is to ‘Connect Local Farmers with Global Buyers’ that would not only increase their income levels but will also massively boost employment in the agriculture industry.” Pankajj Ghode – head of Agri10x – reportedly shared the goal of the platform to eliminate the involvement of middlemen and boost direct engagement between farmers and buyers.

Agri10x COO Abhijith Naraparaju reportedly revealed that the firm will bring the scale from state-wide to nationwide, with a target to onboard over 3 million farmers on their platform by the end of 2020.
