Baseline Finalized Proof-of-concept Showing Secured Order Purchase Execution for Enterprises

By Natalie Wu | May 23, 2020

The Baseline Protocol has reportedly finished a proof-of-concept showcase of order purchase execution for numerous stakeholders, in a secured manner that did not leak any sensitive information.

Specifically, the proof-of-concept has demonstrated how data synchronization and order purchase management can be completed in a private and secured manner, using the Ethereum (ETH) mainnet.

The design process of the Baseline Protocol project was reportedly led ConsenSys, Microsoft, and Ernst & Young.

Previously on May 21st, Baseline Protocol has reportedly publicly revealed a demo, with specific information about Ether-based “multiple companies digitally managing purchase orders and volume discount agreements across disparate systems”.

The concept’s stakeholders reportedly employed 2 distinctive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems – Microsoft Dynamics and SAP – which allowed for keeping the synchronicity level stable through blockchain, at no expense of “exposing information about business activities or relationships to competitors or the public.”

The Baseline Protocol is reportedly also a tool that eliminates workflow errors and data inconsistencies.

Numerous DLT-related companies are reportedly a part of the project, nominally Unibright, Provide, and Envision Blockchain.

“Unibright extracted the domain model from the Unibright connector, set up a connection proxy to the Provide/Baseline stack and integrated SAP. Provide adapted the Baseline Protocol as a standard within the Provide stack, including its secure messaging infrastructure service. […] Envision Blockchain configured and integrated the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management business apps.”
