Aleph.im Secured $10M Capital Injection to Build Censorship-resistant Data Storage

By Natalie Wu | January 24, 2022

The competition in the computing networks scene is beginning to heat up, with decentralized players establishing their presence with support from the crypto ecosystem.

Specifically, Decentralized storage and computing network Aleph.im reportedly managed to secure $10 million of capital injection via fundraising from Stratos Technologies.

The funding round reportedly further witnessed participation from Zeeprime, NOIA Capital, Theia, Bitfwd Capital, Token Ventures, and Seven Capital, with different others.

The cross-blockchain network has a primary target of offering end-to-end decentralized computing power, as well as censorship-resistant data storage, per the announcement.

The timeline for Aleph.im’s first computing resource node introduction was reportedly in January, following the funding round. The nodes would eventually turn into the decentralized network’s primary processing power source.

Aleph.im reportedly gives out the network’s native token – ALEPH – as a reward to its core channel nodes.

The freshly acquired capital injection would reportedly be dedicated to helping Aleph.im amplify its minimum wage payment capabilities, from the existing 70 core channel nodes to 150 node operators.

The expansion reportedly looks to satisfy the target of establishing a distributed virtual machine network to enable full-stack decentralization, supporting key blockchain and decentralized application (DApp) engineers.

Following the kickoff of the network’s computer nodes, Aleph.im further aims to activate storage nodes this year, as disclosed by Aleph.im founder Jonathan Schemoul.
