Solana Disclosed Details Of Google Alliancec, Smartphones, Web3 Store At Breakpoint

During the ecosystem’s annual gathering at Breakpoint 2022 in Libson, Solana reportedly disclosed details related to numerous release announcements as it gears towards going mainstream. 

Specifically, Solana’s roadmap reportedly covers the introduction of smartphones, decentralized application (DApp) stores and a partnership with Google Cloud, among others.

Solana Breakpoint, a four-day conference taking place from Nov. 4 to Nov. 7, reportedly saw the attendance of 13,000 individual in only one of the four venues it’s being held simultaneously, which saw the appearance of Solana co-founder Raj Gokal and Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko.

Vibhu Norby, the CEO and founder of Solana Spaces, further revealed specifics associated with the Solana Store in Miami, displaying a walkaround video of people checking out the store. 

“Now anyone, anywhere can build their own Solana Store.”

During the explanation to the process of developing a Solana store, Norby also disclosed details for the roll-out of GeoNFTs – a nonfungible token (NFT) implementation – which supports users to in geo-tagging an area in their city.

“If you have a GeoNFT, you can redeem it 1-for-1 with the exclusive rights to open a Solana store in that region.”

With GeoNFTs, Solana works towards the target of empowering solo entrepreneurs who have a desire of tapping into business.

“It’s made for the people,” revealed by the Solana mobile team while announcing the launch of its upcoming smartphones, which will take place next year. Detailed release date is yet to be finalized. 

A distinctive functionality of the Solana phone is related to its capability to store the private keys of crypto wallets in a secure manner. The Solana smartphone will be run by a Qualcomm chipset sporting an Arm-based SoC, allowing for higher productivity.

During the event, Solana also disclosed details of a release for its Solana App Store, in a bid to create Web3 disruption, with a Solana representative underscoring the necessity for a good user experience in Web3.

However, the ecosystem’s alliance with Google Cloud was evidently the vedette of the show. Google Cloud is in the process of designing a block-producing Solana validator to take part in and validate the network.

Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Engine, which was initially announced on Oct. 27, will be operational on the Solana chain beginning next year. The integration will make it possible for users to release a dedicated Solana node in the Cloud.
