Singapore Accelerator Spreads Blockchain Knowledge with BMW, Intel, Nielsen

Tribe Accelerator, a blockchain accelerator startup supported by the Singapore government, has announced new strategic relationships with BMW Group Asia, Intel Corporation, and Nielsen to mutually share their knowledge at Tribe’s industry events.

By sharing their individual expertise, the three heavyweights of their respective industries will help Tribe and its community build an inclusive ecosystem that is ready to be part of “industry 4.0”.

According to major Singapore daily The Straits Times (Mar 22), the Tribe events include a global tour across Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, and San Francisco.

More specifically, BMW will offer master classes and mentoring sessions on insights and innovation best practices in the automobile industry. It will also share how the everyday use of blockchain can be adopted.

“We hope we can help each of these startups develop their proofs-of-concept and reach the next stage of their development,” said BMW’s vice president for group IT and head of Asia Pacific, Carsten Sapia.

Intel will provide mentoring in business and technical aspects, but also offer help on how blockchain can be used. Its blockchain program director Michael Reed said products such as Intel’s Xeon Scalable processors and Intel SGX, can help improve privacy, security, and scalability of blockchain solutions.

Nielsen will be providing a sandbox to provide a safe, controlled environment to test new technologies and quicken the adoption of solutions.

“To move forward as a society, we need to encourage experimentation, and once the benefits of blockchain technology become evident, mainstream adoption will undoubtedly follow,” Tribe managing partner Ryan Chew said.
