Senator to Roll Out Financial Innovation Caucus Offering Knowledge On Crypto Assets And Bitcoin

Senator Cynthia Lummis has reportedly disclosed details of the initiative to release a Financial Innovation Caucus to offer crypto and BTC knowledge to her colleagues. 

Specifically, Sen. Cynthia Lummis – a political figure who is comfortable with holding Bitcoin – is reportedly publicly announcing her project, Financial Innovation Caucus, aiming at equipping other senators with sufficient knowledge of digital assets and BTC in particular. 

“We hope to use it as a springboard to educate members of the U.S. Senate and their staff about Bitcoin specifically, but about other opportunities for cryptocurrency and financial innovation and blockchain.” Lummis reportedly remarked. 

Lummis additionally claimed that the caucus will initially focuses on combating the false perspective applied to digital assets and crypto, where they are utilized as means supporting money laundering, noting that insights generated by blockchain forensics entity Chainalysis reportedly showed that “cryptocurrency-related crime is smaller than criminal activity with cash.”

Lummis further shared her recent discussion with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen – whose word regarding the involvement of crypto in illicit financing raised concerns of a regulatory scrutiny, affecting the crypto sector – claiming she is possessing “an open mind” about crypto.

“It’s going to take a lot of work to get to where we can have an open dialogue that is free from the clutter of seeing this knee-jerk reaction to the concern that all crypto is subject to criminal activity. Crypto regulations need to leave room for innovation.”

Sen. Cynthia Lummis reportedly bought BTC in 2013 and 2014, and has since been promoting its function as a store of value.
