PayPal Aims to Integrate All Possible Crypto and blockchain Into Its System

International payment heavyweight PayPal is reportedly putting in extensive efforts to have every possible blockchain and crypto initiatives integrated into its product suite, per a senior executive. 

Specifically, PayPal is reportedly investing significant resources in assisting every possible digital service, including digital currencies and central bank digital currencies (CBDC), as revealed by president Richard Nash. 

Following the introduction of its purchase, hold and sell offering catering to Bitcoin (BTC) throughout America two years ago, PayPal keeps on widening the scope of its digital currency-associated services. 

“Just walking slowly in the crypto shield with buys or holds in certain jurisdictions. […] Looking to work with others to embrace everything we can, whether it’d be the coins that we have today in PayPal digital wallets, private digital currencies or CBDCs in the future.” Nash further remarked. 

Nash additionally shared hints of him having crypto in his investment portfolio, which perfectly aligns with his position at PayPal.

Upon the inquiry of whether he holds any crypto himself, the vice presiden answered “I have a lot of things that I’m working on at PayPal and I like to experience services myself so I think that’s natural.”

Previously, the current Head of PayPal Dan Schulman also revealed that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency he had in his portfolio as of November 2019.

PayPal is reportedly among the top-tier payment entities throughout the globe to have established a presence across the crypto and blockchain sphere in the past years. 

Besides releasing BTC purchase and sell options in particular nations, PayPal further disclosed details related to its own crypto check-out service in March last year, which offer supporting features for crypto payments for merchants. 

The company is reportedly also contemplating upon the introduction of its own stablecoin, dubbed PayPal Coin.
