Official NFTs Representing Marvel Figures Soon to be Released On VeVe Marketplace

By Warren Hayes | June 26, 2021

Official nonfungible tokens (NFTs) representing well-known superheroes will reportedly be available on The VeVe virtual marketplace, following a new Marvel partnership.

Specifically, Marvel Entertainment reportedly disclosed details of a freshly formed alliance with Orbis Blockchain Technologies, to roll out NFTs and digital collectibles, based on the VeVe marketplace app, beginning in the latter half of 2021.

The NFTs will reportedly cover digital collectibles and comic books, enabling trading for Marvel fans, apart from exhibiting in virtual showrooms.

“We hope to expand the limits of what Marvel fandom can be, starting with personal and interactive digital collectibles that, through NFTs, fans can truly collect, share, and enjoy in a way that they have not been able to do before” Marvel’s vice president of business development and strategy Daniel Fink reportedly remarked.

The minting of every Marvel digital collectible will reportedly be carried out on the blockchain, where users are able to purchase and sell to individuals on VeVe’s secondary marketplace, via utilizing the in-app token Gems (GEM).

Credit card payment is reportedly also a viable measure for the token – which has released digital collectibles with characters from DC Comics, Star Trek, and other franchises. Wolverine, Spiderman, Iron Man, and Captain America will be included in the mix from Marvel.

Although the entertainment heavyweight has not been associated with the crypto sphere in a direct manner, individual artists can still release their projects revolving around known characters.

In February, an NFT representing a Spiderman drawing by Adam Kubert was reportedly purchased for over $25,000 on Portion.io, a platform that allows users to create and auction rare art.
