The Portland Trail Blazers – a professional basketball club playing in the US NBA – is reportedly getting into their season games with a crypto logo, via a freshly formed collaboration.

Specifically, the newly established presence in the crypto sphere of the club reportedly finds the Trail Blazers entering the league’s first jersey patch sponsorship with StormX – a blockchain firm enabling crypto rewards earnings for clients, via finishing micro-tasks or shopping at international partner stores online.

As included within the scope of the sponsorship agreement, the Trail Blazers will reportedly enter their games with a featured StormX logo patched on jerseys, throughout the span of the next half-decade, starting from the 2021-22 season.

Both sides have reportedly not revealed any further information regarding the size of the partnership but shared that they signed an “eight-figure contract” including in-arena branding.

Sponsorship professionals reportedly suggested that the value of jersey patch partnerships normally falls somewhere near $10 million yearly.

Apart from the jersey patch, StormX and the Trail Blazers will reportedly also team up to release their first non-fungible tokens (NFTs)based on the Gameday Poster Series, a series featuring unique designs from local artists for Trail Blazers’ team.

The Trail Blazers’ NFTs – which will function as digital collectibles representatives of the team’s posters – will be made available in July.

Trail Blazers president and Head Chris McGowan reportedly remarked that StormX will offer assistance in  “educating and motivating Rip City around cryptocurrency and earning crypto cashback.”
