Live Planet Introduces A Virtual Reality Network Based on Blockchain Technology

Live Planet, a US-based media firm is going to launch a blockchain-based virtual reality network – the Blockchain Virtual Reality (VR) Network in order to broadcast cryptocurrency and blockchain-related content.

According to the firm’s official announcement, this network will be the first of its kind. Specifically, the application is developed based on VideoCoin Network technology, a blockchain-based piece of media infrastructure the company has been developing.

The development came after Live Planet onboared Hanno Basse, the former chief technology officer at 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. He was appointed President of decentralized media solutions division, and has reportedly contributed to the creation of VideoCoin Network and its VR streaming and publishing services.

Joining the network, blockchain-related content creators can use their 360 stereoscopic video service Live Planet VR System to stream and record their content.  Moreover, the network will allow content creators to stream to other platforms including YouTube, Oculus and Samsung VR.

Live Planet also confirmed its partnership with various companies in communications and crypto industries. The partner list includes BLOCKTV, Bad Crypto Podcast, Boxmining, CoinCentral, Crypto Trader, Decentralized Films and YEN.io. 

Earlier, Block.one, the multibillion-dollar parent company of EOS, has reportedly introduced a media platform named Voice, backed by blockchain technology.
