The Major, Lindsey & Africa managing director, Brian Burlant admitted that due to the high demand, the law firms are having difficulty in recruiting lawyers knowledgeable in the blockchain area, since many legal experts comes from regulatory practices or government.

Burlant also shared that: “for law students and those early in their legal careers, coupling a practical business approach with a working understanding of the technology is a good way to go.” He also thought that it is better to focus on blockchain rather than individual cryptocurrencies.

“I think that the blockchain space was extremely popular for lawyers toward the end of 2017, and then the cryptocurrency crash happened, and a lot of lawyers who were working in crypto or blockchain went back quietly to whatever they were doing before, like Silicon Valley in the ’90s, “ Zeughauser Group and one of their partners, Mary K. Young, also noted about the lawyers and their important blockchain technology knowledge .

Early this year, Facebook hired a lot of positions related to blockchain including corporate counsel, product manager, product manager, data scientist, software engineer, and business operations manager

Additionally, Big Four auditing firm KPMG showed the survey result that at least 60% tax and finance executives want to implement blockchain in repetitive task. Also, 67% were not using the blockchain technology, while 27% not sure if their company was using it.
