Indian technology company, Tech Mahindra has announced applying an anti-spam call solution based on blockchain technology.

This blockchain solution complies with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s regulations to protect 800 million subscribers in the country from unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC), which will kick in from the last week of May.

Besides, this solution aims at saving and sharing user’s incoming contact setting, whose proof of concept was designed along with Microsoft team and provided to TRAI last year.

Rajesh Dhuddu, the firm’s Global Practice Leader of Blockchain, applauded blockchain abilities to improve in Government to Citizen (G2C) services and business transactions: “Blockchain, with its key features such as Secure Hash Algorithms, Consensus based decision making, immutable transactions, and distributed ledgers, serves as a panacea for growing trust deficit not only in G2C services but also in overall business world.”

Last month, Tech Mahindra has teamed up with the enterprise IT subsidiary of Samsung’s group, to push Samsung’s Nexledger blockchain platform around the world, reported by The Crypto Sight on April 18.

Back in March, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta has announced a collaboration with Hyderabad-based job placement and online training portal TalentSprint to come up with an advanced course in fintech and financial blockchain technology.
