IBM Teamed Up with Bangladeshi Authority for Piloting Blockchain Tool for Primary Teachers’ Pensions

By Shannon Wilson | June 14, 2020

IBM has reportedly teamed up with a Bangladesh-based authoritative entity to design a DLT-powered architecture, to utilize blockchain features for the digital pension system of local primary teachers.

Specifically, the proof-of-concept reportedly comes with a permissioned network, including and different stakeholders, operated using the IBM Blockchain Platform, with pension data is recorded to the blockchain, enabling tamper-resistant record-keeping, as well as security assurances, for teachers that have become a GBB’s e-pension system.

IBM is reportedly collaborating with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) – the authoritative force in charge of IT policy across the nation – to carry out the pilot.

IBM’s blockchain platform is reportedly going to facilitate the live version of the digital pension infrastructure.

“We believe blockchain will increase confidence in the e-pension system by ensuring that payouts are based on accurate and authentic information” BCC’s executive director, Parthapratim Deb, reportedly remarked.

Deb reportedly forecasted that the pilot will reportedly be an inspirational force for the birth of many more blockchain-based moves from the Bangladeshi authority.

“Its success will likely encourage other agencies to explore applications for our core blockchain platform, furthering BCC’s mission of transforming governmental digital services.”

The engineers from the Bangladesh National Digital Architecture (BNDA) are reportedly behind the pilot proposal. They have designed an e-governance framework for cross-agency digital services delivery standardization.
