High-profile France-based game designing company Ubisoft is reportedly going to be a corporate baker – also known as a validator node – for Tezos

Specifically, Ubisoft reportedly disclosed details regarding its newly formed alliance with Tezos-supported Nomadic Labs, which will help the latter establish a validator node operated on the Tezos network.

Functioning as a Tezos baker, Ubisoft – through its Strategic Innovation Lab – will reportedly become a part of the group consisting of validator nodes, taking care of authentication and adding transaction blocks to the network.

Bakers additionally take care of the distribution process, generated from validating transactions to wallets, which have delegated their staked Tezos (XTZ).

The initiative to operate as a Tezos baker is reportedly in Ubisoft’s wider plan to study the potential opportunities offered by novel technologies such as blockchain

Following the announcement, the video game firm will reportedly be a part of the list of 277 bakers on the Tezos network.

“Ubisoft believes that blockchain has the potential to bring new possibilities to players and developers alike, and this new collaboration will allow us to pursue our innovation efforts with an ecosystem that aligns with our environmental-friendly approach thanks to its proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.” Nicolas Pouard – blockchain initiative director at Ubisoft – reportedly remarked upon the firm’s initiative to operate a validator node on the Tezos network.

As a matter of fact, Tezos is not the first blockchain initiative to capture Ubisoft’s interest in the field of transaction authentication. Ubisoft has previously become a block producer on the UOS Network in January last year.
