As revealed from insights generated by CryptoRank and Santiment, Cardano reportedly secured the top place in the list of most developed crypto initiatives on Github this year, with more than 140,000 events.

Specifically, Kusama and Polkadot consecutively obtained the second and third standing, with approximately the similar number of events in 2021.

Cardano reportedly won against Ethereum’s development activity by a huge gap, with the “Queen of the crypto sphere” only standing at the fourth position.

The definition of a Github event Santiment regards is either creating an issue, creating a pull request, commenting on an issue or pull request, or forking/starring/watching a code repository, among others.

Charles Hoskinson – founder of the Cardano network – reportedly shared via a live Youtube session in the last week of 2021 – that there are around 127 initiatives currently being developed on the Cardano blockchain, with expectations from Hoskinson for the number of ADA users to enjoy a 10x surge from the current 2 million, thanks to the growing popularity of NFTs.

Cardano’s technological advancement is reportedly gathering traction post-Alonzo.

One of the most noteworthy projects being developed is the layer-two Hydra upgrade, which aims at directing transactions off-chain to staking pools without partitioning the ledger itself.

In theory, it potentially has the power to allow for advanced linear scaling of the network, with hundreds of “hydra nodes” handling the processing of hundreds of transactions individually.

An additional example worth mentioning is reportedly the novel fintech funding mechanism, also referred to as the initial stake pool offering (ISPO), carrying a unique nature to the Cardano blockchain

Via this setup, blockchain advocates will reportedly complete the delegation of their crypto coins in a protocol, in return for tokens of the new initiative they financially support as rewards.
