$1B Science Fund Supporting Blockchain Initiatives Furthering human Longevity

By Natalie Wu | October 2, 2021

The Longevity Science Foundation from Switzerland is reportedly planning to dedicate over $1 billion in the next decade to discover tech-based measures to get the human lifespan to 120 years.

Specifically, the foundation – formed by a group of biotech founders, clinicians, and leading longevity research institutions – reportedly seeks to financially support research, institutions, and initiatives which utilize blockchain and another next-gen tech, to discover new breakthroughs across four main aspects of the sector, therapeutics, personalized medicine, A.I and predictive diagnostics.

The announcement reportedly read that those types of initiatives have the ability to create profound differences in the life of many individuals, even when the time frame is only half a decade.

Employing theoretical longevity concepts to real-world scenarios is reportedly the main focal point of the organization, with further goals to turn scientific discoveries and innovations, tech-wise, into clinical treatments and solutions, via donations.

“By identifying and funding the most promising and cutting-edge advances, the Foundation seeks to address one of the most pressing issues in the science and applicability of longevity medicine: radical inequality in accessing and understanding longevity-focused treatment”.

Entities or individuals contributing to the foundation – which supports crypto-enabled donations – will reportedly be granted voting rights, offering the power to help select which initiatives qualified for the financial support.

A visionary board will take care of the pre-selection and evaluation of potential candidates,  “for their technical soundness and potential impact on human longevity.”
