A new collaboration between reggae artist Bay-C from Jamaica and Caricoin, a London-headquartered Bitcoin (BTC) wallet firm, is reportedly looking to design a nonfungible token (NFT) platform, supporting other artists in the Caribbean.

Specifically, the NFT platform, currently down the pipeline, will reportedly assist reggae and dancehall creative throughout the Caribbean to reel in an increased amount of revenue from their work in the music sector.

The in-the-work NFT platform dedicated to Caribbean artists is reportedly an additional development, within the scope of an alliance, lasting for three years, between Caricoin and the reggae star.

“Not everybody wants to understand how the blockchain technology works, some just want to get the content out; know that they have this NFT, so we’re trying to make it as easy as possible for as many people in the Jamaican and Caribbean creative space.” Bay-C reportedly shared his thoughts regarding the plans for the NFT platform.

Per Bay-C, the planned NFT platform for Caribbean reggae stars will reportedly be available via online platforms before 2021 ends. The reggae star shared that he is putting effort into motivating his peers to play around with NFTs.

The anticipating reggae NFT platform is reportedly an additional instance of Caricoin’s ongoing attempts to improve its presence across the Caribbean. The U.K. Bitcoin wallet firm selected Jamaica to be its headquarter in 2015 and disclosed details of a crypto exchange platform the following year.

Bay-C has reportedly had initial interactions with NFTs, rolling out seven copies of one of his songs in the form of digital tokens. The reggae star has a goal of widening the scope of his NFT foray, via making digital collectibles as part of his second full album, King Bass, available.
