Blockchain at Berkley – a blockchain organization operated by the students – has reportedly secured the 10th spot, regarding biggest delegates for the Uniswap exchange.
Specifically, the student-led entity has reportedly managed to secure 2.5 million votes, where it is equal to three other entities, emphasizing the diversity of groups interacting with the emerging DeFi platform.
The above development, as disclosed by Sybil – an Ether governance solution – offered Blockchain at Berkley a vote weight of 2.336%. Dharma is reportedly the biggest delegate, gathering up to 16,659,333 votes – equivalent to 14.632%.
Established in October 4 years ago, Blockchain at Berkeley reportedly looks to be recognised as a “hub for blockchain innovation”, offering a wide range of services, nominally consulting, design and education. The entities’ noteworthy partners reportedly include Ethereum, Universal Protocol and Hyperledger.
Blockchain at Berkeley executive Katherine Plotz reportedly disclosed that her team will be organizing discussions, in a bid to deep dive into “the Uniswap and Compound proposals, looking at them from all angles and seeing what the pros and cons are, before casting a vote.”
“This opportunity to participate in governance is perhaps the best context our members could have for future contributions in the blockchain space […] We hope to show to the ecosystem just how much thought we put into our analysis of the space…” Andrew Kirillov, the organization’s head of education, reportedly claimed further.
Uniswap’s first governance vote in October has reportedly resulted in failure status following the delegates’ inability to satisfy the lowest point of 40-million-vote required for approval, and a vote cast resulted in the same result. Blockchain at Berkley did not take part in either.
