Twitter reportedly seems to be investing resources in designing a feature, dedicated to making it possible for users to add Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses to their profiles.
Specifically, the most recent news reportedly suggests details of Twitter’s Tip Jar functionality – rolled out to the general audience in May 2021 – which contributed to the report published in the first week of September, concreting the certainty of a Bitcoin (BTC) tipping feature for content creators currently in the works.
Mobile developer and self-described “leaker” Alessandro Paluzzi from Italia reportedly took to Twitter to display screenshots revealing BTC and Ether (ETH) wallet address options in the settings toolbar of the app version of Twitter.
“#Twitter is working to allow you to add your #Bitcoin and #Ethereum address to your profile to receive tips via the Tip Jar feature
It is not necessary to link a Strike account to add them to your profile. pic.twitter.com/xT9Tg1vdzR

Regardless of any official remarks confirming the update from Twitter, its product lead Kayvon Beykpour retweeted Paluzzi’s post discussing the BTC tipping feature, using the lighting and “soon” arrow emoji.
Head of Twitter – Jack Dorsey – reportedly showed some hints back in July disclosing that the BTC tipping feature is included in the overall strategy from the firm for a full integration of the asset into the platform, using avenues like commerce and subscriptions.
The BTC tipping feature will reportedly be taking advantage of the Lightning Network payment platform Strike. Nonetheless, Paluzzi further shared that connecting a Strike account is not a mandatory step to add BTC addresses to user profiles.
