Manchester City – the professional football club from the Barclay Premier League – has formed a collaboration with the blockchain football gaming firm Superbloke.
As revealed by Manchester City on August 26, SuperBloke will be developing a blockchain-based online game – dubbed FC Superstars – using Manchester City players’ images and datas, as an online mean to allow the club’ supporters to cheer for their favourites via gaming.
Simultaneously with the new collaboration announcement, Superbloke will be recognized as an official blockchain-powered Gacha partner of the English club, in Korea, Japan and the South East Asia region.
FC Superstars is an online collectible DApp, which will grant its players the ability to generate and develop football star tokens, which will be in their possessions and classified as digital assets. Via interacting with the DApp, Man City supporter will be able to form their own customized Man City team, through digital cards, which are based on stats in the real world.
An open beta version of FC Superstars was launched in April this year, prior to the official partnership announcement with the 2018/19 EPL winner. The firm further revealed that events and collaborations will also happened following the establishment of the partnership.
