By | June 9, 2022

Famous New York hip-hop artist and producer Jay-Z reportedly teamed up with the founder of Cash App, Jack Dorsey, to introduce “The Bitcoin Academy”.

Specifically, the collaborative effort of the two famous figures will reportedly serve as an educational program dedicated to the democratic vision that “education is power.”

Rolled out only to residents of the Marcy Project public housing complex in New York City, the scheme will reportedly begin on the 22nd of June and lasts until Sept. 7 with in-person and online attendance options.

The free educational program is reportedly built with the goal of streamlining access to financial data as well as promoting inclusive opportunities.

The educators Lamar Wilson of the Black Bitcoin Billionaire and Najah J. Roberts of the Crypto Blockchain Plug will reportedly be the teachers in charge of the program, with particular details of the lessons are still released sparsely at the moment.

Nonetheless, the topics are reportedly claimed to be focused on the necessity, utility, and vision for Bitcoin together with general financial literature.

Children within the age range of five to 17 have also been encouraged to participate in the “Crypto Kids Camp” on two of the Saturday events, while adult attendees will receive a portable WiFi hotspot device, a one-year limited data plan, and a smartphone if required.

According to Dorsey, he drew the inspiration from the outcomes of Bitcoin projects which have assisted a small section of African and Central and South American populations, claiming that the overarching target is “to prove that making powerful tools more available to people enables them to build greater independence.”
