Italian VISA Card Supplier Expanded Its Offerings With Privacy-Oriented Monero

By | February 22, 2020

Bitsa – the Italy-based prepaid VISA card reloadable provider – has reportedly added support feature for famous privacy-concentrated altcoin Monero (XMR), to its product.

Specifically, with this latest pro-Monero development, Bitsa will be able to offer facilitation for “all types” of XMR-enabled transactions, both via offline and online channels, including card-to-card transfers and Monero-euro (EUR) conversion.

Officially released in the 3rd quarter of 2019, Bitsa Card offers facilitation for up to 12 digital coins, nominally Bitcoin (BTC), as well as EUR bank transfers and payments, as disclosed by the firm’s CEO, Luis Vaello.

A few sources reportedly believed that Bitsa has earned the title of the first ever prepaid crypto card, which comes with support for privacy-focused digital coin Monero. This initiative is a part of the firm’s plan to expand its business, via making numerous payment options available.

“We do not know 100% if we are the first card to support Monero, but we are definitely ones of the first and at least the only one fully functional.  Our idea is to make Bitsa recharged with as many funding methods as possible.” Vaello claimed.

“While the vast majority of cryptocurrency transactions are verifiable and traceable by anyone, the addresses (sender and receiver) and the amounts sent are hidden in Monero. Therefore, since there is no trace due to its high privacy, it is impossible to distinguish these tokens.” Bitsa clarified on the untraceable perk of Monero-enabled transactions, due to its anonymous nature.
