The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta has announced a collaboration with Hyderabad-based job placement and online training portal TalentSprint to come up with an advanced course in fintech and financial blockchain technology.
The 6-month programme is scheduled to begin in May, which centers on the growth of fintech and its disruptive impact on traditional banking and finance systems. It will be delivered both on-site at the IIM Calcutta campus and online via TalentSprint’s digital platform. TalentSprint will also leverage its network to offer cutting edge capstone projects for program participants.
“A vast majority of firms in the banking and financial sector believe that the lack of adequate fintech talent is an existential threat to their future. Our fintech programme, designed with today’s management and finance professionals in mind, will leverage the deep research and consulting expertise of IIM Calcutta faculty and our state-of-art Finance Lab,” said program director Prof Indranil Bose.
He also said the plan is to train up 2000 fintech professionals “in the next few years”.
IIM Calcutta has more than 50 years of experience. The institute is also the only management institution in India with triple accreditation from AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS, and is highly regarded for its excellence in financial education.
