Infamous tech firm, IBM has issued a patent for a mobile data sharing method which uses distributed ledger technology (DLT), according to a document published on April 23 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent description is the follow up of U.S. patent application filed in November 2017 named “Information Sharing Among Mobile Apparatus.” This method reportedly aimed to verify shared information between two devices via a mobile appliance. To be exact, the platform based on particular collected information to update map information as well as route navigation.

Connected objects will be sharing the same event information among multiple mobile devices with quick reliability, using no help from a third party. The document further explained: “Connected objects can be sensed and/or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, integrating connected physical objects into computer-based systems. Connected physical objects are uniquely identifiable through their embedded computing system, allowing the connected physical objects to interoperate within the existing Internet infrastructure.”

In recent months, IBM has been quite active in the blockchain field. In April, one of the new blockchain-powered schemes, which is powered by Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Fabric and built on IBM Blockchain system, is designed to allow major companies to trace the flow of cobalt across the supply chain in near real-time with the effort to meet responsible sourcing standards, as The Crypto Sight reported.
