Decentralized storage network Filecoin reportedly teamed up with Protocol Labs and different Web3 ecosystem participants to release the Decentralized Storage Alliance.
Specifically detailed in the announcement, one of the primary targets of the freshly established alliance is to assist Web2 enterprises transition to Web3 via education, advocacy and best practices.
The Alliance reportedly claimed that it has expectations to achieve this goal via putting together diverse perspectives from top-tier Web2 and Web3 industry players, nominally Advanced Micro Devices, Ernst & Young and data storage solutions provider Seagate.
The organization has an aspiration of turning into a trusted sphere, in which different firms are able to work together surrounding Web3 technologies such as decentralized storage, towards the goal of fast-tracking its adoption.
It additionally has intentions of offering access to educational materials and technical resources, which will help enhance the process of onboarding data to decentralized storage networks, and simplifying the protocol for new data centers to onboard to the network.
“With top-tier leaders across Web2 and Web3 coming together to explore the unrealized potential of decentralized technology, this Alliance has the power to transform the foundation of the internet.” Stefaan Vervaet, head of network growth at Protocol Labs, further remarked.
Previously, a different Protocol Labs project introduced CO2.Storage, a Web3 data storage solution which works towards the goal of allowing transparency for carbon offsets, as well as dealing with traditional storage solutions for all types of digital environmental assets, including renewable energy credits.
The project was built with a primary target of bringing down the environmental impact of Filecoin.
