Binance keeps on reinforcing its connection with Russia, via having its executive taking charge of the freshly established dedicated expert facility for crypto regulation.
Specifically, Binance, despite the temporary shutdown of its services in nations such as Israel due to licensing issues, reportedly revealed details related to its newly established presence into the Association of Banks of Russia, looking to support dialogue with local authorities, lawmakers and professionals across the crypto sphere.
Formed in 1990, the association reportedly consists of more than 300 banks and financial institutions in Russia, taking up approximately 90% of the local’s banking infrastructure.
The association’s council has reportedly granted approval for Binance’s membership in the association, rolling out a dedicated expert facility focusing on virtual financial assets and digital currencies.
The target of the expert center is reportedly to make preparations for professional reviews regarding the circulation of digital assets in Russia. together with generating expert insights related to the topic for the association and its representatives, as well as reporting on the global experience of dealing with crypto assets.
Olga Goncharova, Binance’s director of government relations in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), reportedly took charge of the association’s expert facility, obtaining approval from the association’s presidium council.
Goncharova reportedly became a part of the crypto exchange in January, to amplify efforts for staying compliant in Russia and CIS.
Prior to the new adventure at Binance, she reportedly took up the role of a department director at the Bank of Russia.
Association President Georgy Luntovsky further revealed during the introduction of Goncharova, that she will handle proper monitoring of the circulation of digital currencies in Russia.
“In our opinion, she is a good candidate to lead the platform where the expert community could discuss approaches to the regulation and development of digital financial assets,”
