Susan Stoner Zook – previously an assistant for the US Republican party Senator Mike Crapo – has reportedly been recruited by Facebook to be a new member of the Libra stablecoin lobby team.

According to Politico on August 5, Zook has been brought aboard Libra’s team as one of its new lobbyist, with the main focus is to get regulators to authorize Libra. As stated in the report, the new lobbyist’s main job – which was revealed via an email she drafted – revolves around lobbying Republican senators.

In July 2019, Crapo – the above-mentioned Senator – has strongly emphasize how crucial it is to come up with an over-aching regulatory framework, designed solely to protect data – Facebook in particular and any Internet-related establishments having a plan to introduce their own digital coins.

However, Crapo did not forget to mention Libra’s launch.

“We’ve got to look at how we structure data protection in the United States […] We need to move to a comprehensive approach. What that structure exactly is, I can’t tell you.”

During the recent hearing session on crypto of the US Senate, numerous senators claimed to be leaning towards reinforcing the current leading status of the US in crypto and blockchain, while a few other expressed concerns.
