Ripple’s developer ecosystem project Xpring has officially announced its collaboration with blockchain-based game developing firm Forte to form a $100 million fund for supporting Blockchain in gaming, according to a press release on March 12.
Forte is a game industry Blockchain platform supported by many heavyweights in the crypto field such as US-based venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, early-stage capital firm Canaan Partners and major crypto exchange Coinbase, while Xpring is a Ripple project designed to invest in, incubate, acquire and provide grants to companies and projects run by proven entrepreneurs.
Specifically, the project was an attempt at strengthening the mass integration of Blockchain platforms into gaming by boosting gamers’ engagement and monetization. Forte is reportedly directing its focus to individuals who have a heart for Blockchain development as well as designing or operating multi-thousand players visited daily gaming platforms.
“Blockchain technologies’ key innovations unlock vast potential for nearly all forms of digital interaction. Gaming is a $140 billion global industry driven predominantly by digital micro-transaction economies, which we believe will benefit immensely from the integrity and resilience of blockchain technology.” Chief Platform Officer at Forte Brett Seyler claimed.
The jointly developed project will be utilizing the open-source Interledger Protocol along with Ripple’s XRP token and the open hosting protocol Codius that would be able to enhance cross-chain transactions.
