NYSE Submitted Filing For Trademark Application For Trading NFTs

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) reportedly finalized the submission of a filing for a trademark application with a US agency to register “NYSE” for an array of blockchains and crypto offerings. 

Specifically, NYSE reportedly attempted for registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), regarding different products and services such as virtual reality and augmented reality software, non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, and online marketplaces.

Per the application’s details, the financial exchange would reportedly have the freedom to offer “downloadable virtual goods” for NFTs and digital collectibles, together with “authentication of data in the field on NFTs using blockchain technology.”

The NYSE has reportedly established its footprints within the NFTs or the Metaverse prior. In April last year, six NYSE NFTs were minted to commemorate the first trades for Spotify, Snowflake, Unity, DoorDash, Roblox.

As can be inferred from the firm’s website, NYSE additionally revealed that there are “many more NYSE NFTs to come as we continue to welcome new, innovative companies to our community.”

This application reportedly suggested plans for introducing an NFT marketplace, catering to buyers, sellers, and traders of “digital assets, artwork, collectibles, and nonfungible tokens.”

A section was reportedly also available to offer specifics into “cryptocurrency trading services”, which would support the “financial exchange of virtual currency”. 

Moreover, both downloadable and non-downloadable virtual reality and augmented, together with application programming interface (API) are included in the application as well.
