Africa-centric blockchain internet firm 3air has reportedly completed the transition of their operations from the Cardano blockchain to SKALE – an Ether-based network, after “massive talent shortage” for Haskell engineers. 

Specifically, the skills required for Haskell – currently the main programming language of Cardano – seems to be becoming more scarce, as revealed by Head of 3air, Sandi Bitenc. 

Following months invested in actively hunting for senior Haskell coders to develop on Cardano, 3air reportedly managed to only find two entry-level part-time developers, said Bitenc.

Regardless of the firm’s attempt to connect with development agencies suggested by Cardano, 3air still failed to search for the suitable human resources.

Following the SKALE migration, the CEO reportedly revealed that engineers of 3air will be able to kick start their projects instantly, working towards their development target. 

He further spoke highly of SKALE’s enhanced transactions speed, zero gas fees as well as multi-chain capabilities, particularly in association with decentralized applications, as the factors fueling the choice to adopt the protocol. 

SKALE reportedly introduced the initial phase of its mainnet in June two years ago, following successfully securing $26.75 million of capital injection throughout the past two years. 

The Ethereum-compatible network, which claims to be fully decentralized, has shifted its concentration towards Web3, non fungible tokens and decentralized applications.

Despite Cardano still appearing in the list of top major communities in crypto, slow progress recorded on its development aspect has reportedly given chances for other rivals to excel in the smart contract sphere.
