Recent insights reportedly suggested that Australian crypto investors at an older age range dwarf the new generation, initial investment-wise, but the younger crowd trades more actively on a day-to-day basis. 

Specifically, The average portfolio size on Australian cryptocurrency exchange BTC Markets reportedly witnessed an increase, going from $577.65 (795.5 Australian dollars) to $2,069.16 (2849.5 AUD) during the 2021 fiscal year, indicating a 258.2% surge in terms of portfolio holdings. 

According to Insights inferred from a BTC Markets survey conducted by Statista lately, the average portfolio size of female and male investors in fiscal 20-21 on BTC Markets reportedly stood at $1,924.30 (2,650 AUD) and $2,214.03 (3,049 AUD) respectively. 

Nonetheless, in the last fiscal year, the average portfolio size of female Aussie investors exceeded that of male investors by a small margin. 

Transaction data on the exchange further revealed a pattern of rising investment demand related to age. Taking into account the insights from BTC Market on Australia’s average initial investment, investors that are older than 65 years of age have made an approximate amount of investment of $3,158.03 – the leading number throughout every demographic.

After an incremental decrease throughout a variety of age groups, the youngest cryptocurrency traders – falling between the 18-to-24 gap – are more prone to invest comparatively smaller amounts, around $792.96 on average. 

While investors in Australia with a higher age significantly beat the younger generation in terms of initial investment, the latter showed a more active record when it comes to daily trades.
