Crypto asset management and Bitcoin (BTC) ETF entity Valkyrie Investments has reportedly obtained 10 million via a Series A fundraising, further showing increasing interest in crypto-centric companies.
Specifically, apart from Charlie Lee – a widely-recognized entrepreneur across the crypto sphere – different firms have taken part in the funding round, nominally XBTO, BTC Media, UTXO Management, Consolidated Trading and 10X Capital. Former Major League Baseball pitcher CJ Wilson was also in the investors panel, together with Tron founder Justin Sun.
Leah Wald – ex-World Bank expert and current Head of Valkyrie – reportedly revealed that her company is channeling resources towards widening the scope of investor access to crypto, in a “managed, research-driven manner that ultimately provides best-in-class products to all kinds of investors.”
“Leah and Steven have a great vision for how they want to bring investment opportunities to market, and I couldn’t be happier to support them on this journey.” Litecoin founder and Valkyrie’s chief investment officer Charlie Lee mentioned Wald and Steven McClurg in his remarks of the development.
There are three crypto-centric funds under the management of the asset manager at the moment, offering exposure to Bitcoin, Polkadot and Algorand.
In January this year, Valkyrie reportedly submitted an application for the listing of a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund with the US SEC, which has been postponed ever since.
Valkyrie’s most recent investment attempt reportedly indicates the continuing investment interest in crypto entities.
