Bison Trails – blockchain-based infrastructure-as-a-service firm – has reportedly rolled out its support feature for Solana – an open-source project for permissionless blockchain tech implementations. 

Specifically, Solana’s protocol adopts a different measure for the establishment work of the order of blocks – generally known as Proof-of-History – which will be introduced publicly at mainnet release on the Bison Trails platform.

As disclosed by Solana, the platform at the moment possess a facilitating capacity of around 50-65K transactions every second, 400ms block times, with 50 nodes on its public testnet.

“If you’re a Solana token holder, you can run your own validators or delegate to the Bison Trails validator at mainnet launch. As additional features like archiver clients and storage rent come online, Bison Trails customers will be able to run additional infrastructure to support the network and earn participatory rewards.” Joe Lallouz – head of Bison Trails – reportedly shared his remarks regarding the development.

Lallouz further revealed that the 2 firms have been collaborating for 12 months now, from test run of the first node across all testnets, to deploying infrastructure on both physical hardware and in the cloud.

“At Solana, we’re developing a scaling solution for blockchains that can uniquely capitalize on improvements in hardware and bandwidth. Because of this approach, the upfront and ongoing resources required to participate as a validator in the Solana network can be more demanding than other protocols.” Anatoly Yakovenko – founder and current head of Solana – reportedly stated.
