US SEC Public Sector Leader Urged Authorities to Learn From China’s Crypto Innovation

| 20-Th1-2020

Hester Peirce – the Securities and Exchange commissioner – has reportedly shared that there are potential aspects the US can study from, regarding the crypto-focused innovations in China

Specifically, via a live webcam Q&A session at the Crypto Finance Conference in Switzerland, Peirce – the public sector leader generally referred to as “CryptoMom”, has urged the US governments to learn from the innovations rolled out in China.

“Learn from what other countries are doing and take the best of what they’re doing and reject the worst of what they’re doing.”

In the previous congressional testimony of the creator of Facebook – Mark Zuckerberg – regarding the development of his firm’s project Libra, has also strongly highlighted that the US is losing its leading position, innovation-wise.

At the moment, China – the nation that has just published the printed version of its second-edition manual on crypto coins for the country’s authorities, is set to roll out a state-backed digital coin, which has caught the attention of public sector leaders like Peirce.

“A lot of innovation is happening in China. I think that the government recognizing the potential is something we should learn from.”

Currently, the US SEC is putting resources in its “accredited investor” designation project. The protection aims to supervise and restrict the number of participants into the digital marketplace.
