Waves Enterprise has reportedly entered a collaboration with Ontology to resolve major problems regarding e-voting – user authentication and identification.

Specifically, Waves Enterprise – a top-tier tech firm focusing on blockchain-powered solutions for businesses and governments – has reportedly put its signature on a memorandum of understanding with blockchain platform Ontology, in a bid to complete the integration of decentralized identification tools into the Waves Enterprise e-voting system.

As included in the alliance, Waves Enterprise and Ontology reportedly have a goal to tackle a long running major issue present in the digital voting sector – user authentication and identification, where a new Ontology-built decentralized identity tool – dubbed ONT ID – will be utilized.

Artem Kalikhov, chief product officer at Waves Enterprise, reportedly remarked that Ontology’s DeID tech will function as an alternative approach to traditional measures, nominally email verification.

“Right now we rely on traditional web authentication, via registered email approach”.

Li Jun, founder of Ontology, provided her explanation, reportedly claimed that with the new Ontology-based e-voting integration, users will have to finalize the ONT ID registration, to connect their personal information and credentials.

“Then their voting records can be traced on a chain which is not erased,”

Jun further remarked that user privacy will be safe from compromisation, since ONT ID functions as a decentralized entity. Nonetheless, information such as hashes or transaction numbers are still trackable.
