The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) France has announced that they now accept donations in DAI tokens, making it a total of 10 cryptocurrencies that UNICEF accept through donations.

According to UNICEF France donation websites, they announced that the DAI cryptocurrencies will help funding research for open source tech and make contribution to the world’s most vulnerable people.
UNICEF has been investing in new technologies to clear up global problems. They indicates that blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) are noticed recently. A Dignity Network has been formed with the purpose of educating the young generation and creating a “blockchain communities” to help solving local challenges.
Since 2018, UNICEF France has accepted cryptocurrencies donations, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), EOS (EOS), Monero (XMR), Stellar (XLM), DASH (DASH) and currently the DAI token.
Sébastien Lyon, Director of UNICEF France, has said that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology not only serving the community but also appealing to raise generosity of the public. Cryptocurrency will help to develop UNICEF France to bring new chance to children in countries of intervention.
In February 2018, UNICEF launched a fundraising program for children in the midst of Syria’s civil war. The program called “Game Chaingers” provides users to download that mine Ethereum and send it directly to UNICEF’s account. In Australia, UNICEF also created another similar program named The Hopepage that performing the same function as the previous “Game Chaingers”.
