Simba Chain Selected to Build Blockchain-based Management Solution for US Department of Defense

By | May 14, 2020

Simba Chain – a blockchain firm receiving support from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) – has reportedly managed to secure a deal with the US authorities.

Specifically, Simba Chain will be working on a proof-of-concept for a blockchain-powered management solution with enhanced security, for the research and development documentation of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

The $200,000 deal is a Phase I contract of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, established to bring up the engagement level of small firms with federal research that has the potential for commercialization.

Particularly, Simba Chain will be building “ALAMEDA” – “Authenticity Ledger for Auditable Military Enclaved Data Access”, which is set to be released on the first day of June this year, and operational by Sept. 30, 2020.

Should Phase I has a positive result, a potential $1 million SBIR Phase II contract will reportedly be initiated for enhanced commercialization.

Simba Chain is reportedly tasked with establishing a single system that assists the R&D-related 4.5 million documents for 4,000 users for the DoD’s Defense Technical Information Center efficient sharing, using blockchain.

The new project looks to “eliminate third-party bad actors, and otherwise allow secure direct connections between trusted sources”, as claimed by Head of Simba Chain Joel Neidig.
